They drive like crazy
They park on zebra crossings (there are no zig zags either side of the crossing). They park on bends, corners, double park and they park in entrances so blocking every one in a car park for instance.
Yes it is true, they are nuts behind a steering wheel, El Loco.
So tonight a Spaniard was blocked in his apartment car park by another Spaniard, and the local Police were called. They issue a ticket, put a green sticker on the kerb for the obstructing driver, because the tow truck comes and removes the obstructing car. Very Good no messing, lift on a chariot take away, very quick. Pronto.
Green sticker on the kerb tells idiot features that his car is in the pound awaiting payment. And another one bites the dust !!!
I
have to add, that these sweeping generalisations are all based on first hand
eye witness accounts, my eyes. Spaniards have a problem with dashboards and
instruments, speedometer, Que??? Horn ah Si Si, Indicators, err No.
No indicators necessary, why don't you know where I am going
look at the front wheels. No belisha beacons on zebra crossings, lets run them
over, Carramba missed. Horn ah si si
noise excellente, leave engine
running si si excellente mucho noise por favor. Parking ah si si
hit the car behind then you
know how much space you have. Now fwd,
hit the car in front, bump bump, thats what bumpers are for. Be a fool to break the 2 second rule, ah no
no, follow car in front as close as possible whatever speed, use his slip
stream like on race track, roads are race tracks after all Mucho Gracias. Tyres
and Tarmac no no senior no gaps at traffic lights and junctions,
might have to bump you on your way vamoos.

The Arid Interior
I had to drive int the interior yesterday. The Car needed its cam belt changed. So much quieter than a seaside resort. Spain is under populated, despite being Roman Catholic and every young couple start young to have masses of kids. The interior is so peaceful, pleasant scenery Mountains and Lakes. The Salt lakes are pink, others are turquoise. Very pretty.
Yet poverty manifests. Apparently 17% of restaurants have closed down. Girls flaunt their forms on roundabouts waiting to earn a few Euros. There are 2 lap top dance night clubs here at least, both empty car parks.
Holiday makers spend a week here, not a fortnight. Last Night at the Boston Tavern, Rod Stewart sound alike look a like performed to a packed Boston Tavern. Very enjoyable, dancing, singing, holiday makers having a good time. Saturdays they have Flamenco Dancing, rest of the time the place is empty and can only survive in the summer as all the tables are outside and the interior bar is too small. The happy tipsy holiday makers will be gone next week. Their tans fading, their summer dresses stored under the bed.
I will still be here.
However, the masses from Madrid including the gutter snipes, low life, riff raff have all vamoosed back to the holes they came from. Civilisation is beginning to be restored after 8 weeks. These would be Matadors and Torriedors (the riff raff) were further educated in English swear words from yours truly. Also conditioned on how to not block the pink pavements, by shoulder barged reminiscent of Moses parting the Red Sea.
They have no care for the environment, street life, sea life, noise conservation.
They are ignorant and inconsiderate, basically bad mannered. Scum.
Still the pictures are pretty with no one in them spoiling the shot.
Hasta Pronto
Oh Btw been up a ladder pruning the dead leaves off the palm tree in the garden. No I am not a lumberjack, but I am alright.
